The Volkswagen Tiguan is a compact crossover SUV that gives you the performance of agility and performance of a smaller vehicle with the seating capacity and cargo capacity of a larger vehicle. Let’s take a closer look at some of these features that make the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan the compact SUV you want for your family.

The 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan: Where Comfort Meets Agility
Performance and Agility
When you drive an SUV, you usually have to sacrifice some agility to balance the increased roominess of an SUV. Driving a Tiguan doesn’t have this problem, as its super smooth eight-speed transmission and low 1,900 rpm torque give you excellent handling for an SUV. Steering and handling have always been a feature of Volkswagens, and the Tiguan’s responsive steering makes driving, cornering, and parking easier than ever.
The Tiguan is powered by a 2.0L 4-cyl turbo engine that pushes out 184 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. FWD is standard, providing greater fuel efficiency than an RWD. AWD is an available option if you want to try some light off-road driving, and this option changes the engine to a 4MOTION 2.0L turbo with the same statistics as the standard engine but stability and traction enhancements for handling rougher terrain.
Interior Space and Comfort
The Tiguan is almost alone as a compact SUV that offers three rows of seating for up to seven people. The headroom is 39.6″, and the legroom is 40.2″ in the front seats, with 38.9″ of headroom and 38.7″ of legroom in the rear seats. Heated front seats are standard, and both the driver and front passenger have six-way manually adjustable seating. Well-bolstered cloth seating makes it easier to relax into the seats and enjoy the ride.
An 8″ touchscreen with virtual buttons makes accessing vehicle information easy, and this can be upgraded to a 10.3″ screen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility are standard, as is a 6.5″ infotainment screen. Available features include leatherette seating, powered driver and front passenger seating, and a nine-speaker Fender sound system.
Cargo Capacity
The Tiguan has 12 cubic feet of space in the trunk, and if you fold down the third row, this increases to 33 cubic feet. If you need more space, the second-row seating can be folded flat to provide 65.3 cubic feet of space. If you choose the AWD option, the third-row seating is removed, and the trunk capacity is increased. With this option, your cargo capacity increases to 37.6 cubic feet and 73.4 cubic feet respectively.
In addition to the interior capacity, you can install the available towing hitch, and your Tiguan is rated to tow up to 1,500 pounds.
