The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 is an all-electric compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) that offers performance, functionality, and comfort in a sporty package. Assembled in the United States, the 2023 ID.4 has several powertrain options, a suite of technology apps and upscale amenities standard, fast charging capabilities, and Volkswagen award-winning safety features.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Available in five trims: Standard, S, Pro, Pro S, and Pro S Plus, the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 is designed with clean lines and athletic aerodynamic elements, including gloss black highlights on the front bumpers. 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights and taillights, rain-sensing wipers, and power-folding exterior mirrors are standard. It is available in eight exterior paint options and three-wheel designs. Higher trims get 20-inch alloy wheels, premium LED projector headlights, a panoramic fixed glass roof with an electric sunshade, and an illuminated front Volkswagen logo with connecting line.
Engine (Power)
The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 has a single rear-mounted electric motor with 201 horsepower and 229-pound feet of torque for the rear-wheel drive (RWD) models. The all-wheel drive (AWD) models get dual electric motors with 295 horsepower and 339-pound feet of torque, enough power to tow up to 2,700 pounds.
Performance
Available in a choice of RWD and AWD, the 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 is equipped with one of two batteries, a 62 kWh and an 82 kWh battery pack. It has a range of up to 275 miles on a full charge with the ID.4 reaching a full charge in about 10 minutes with a Level 3 charger and one hour with a Level 2 charger. Regarding efficiency, the RWD models max out at 97/104/89 combined/city/highway MPGe with 96/103/88 MPGe for the AWD models. The 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 can go from zero to 60 in 5.4 seconds.
Interior
With a focus on comfort and convenience, the interior of the five-seat 2023 Volkswagen ID.4 is designed with clean, simple lines, contoured leatherette seats, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, ambient lighting, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The interior's focal point is a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment screen with navigation and mobile device connectivity, as well as a digital gauge cluster. There's a maximum cargo capacity of 64.2 cubic feet. Available upgrades include three-zone climate control, 12-way power-adjustable front seats with massage lumbar and position memory, perforated V-tex leatherette seats, and rear seat armrests with cupholders and cargo area pass-thru.

There's also dynamic road sign display, forward collision warning, and autonomous emergency braking.
