The Steps

No matter your decision, here’s what to do next

1. The Inspection.

These inspections are free and they come to you – whether it be your home (someone 18 or older must be present), office, or the dealership. They’re also a great way to receive a quick assessment of potential charges that you may owe at the end of your term. At this point, you’ll have an opportunity to make repairs instead of being charged for them as excess wear.

Visit selfschedule.aiminspect.com or call Alliance Inspection Management (AiM) at + 1 844 264 9704 to schedule an inspection.

2. The repair (if needed).

You'll still have time to make repairs so that you won’t incur additional fees upon turn-in. Ask your Volkswagen Dealer and insurance agent if any repairs are covered under warranty or by your auto insurance. Your Dealer may have helpful suggestions to help with out-of-pocket expenses Make the end-of-term process even smootherif you have repair work done post-inspection, email the following items to repairreceipt@vwcredit.com before turning in your vehicle.

  • -Repair Order Showing work performed and vehicle description
  • - Proof of payment
  • - VIN and/or account number
  • - Date repair was completed

3. The final payment

This is a reminder to make your final payment prior to turning in your vehicle. Have you deferred payments during your lease? If so, in addition to your last monthly payment, your final payment will include these deferred payments. If you are enrolled in Auto Pay, the automatic withdrawal of your final payment will also include these deferred payments. If you lease or purchase a new Volkswagen through Volkswagen Credit, you may be able to roll over your remaining payments into your new agreement with us, allowing you to make your deferred payments while enjoying a new VW. This is subject to credit approval through Volkswagen Credit and financing terms will be set as agreed upon between you and your dealer.

4. The turn-in.

Schedule an appointment to visit your dealer-it’s time to act on your official decision.

Option 1: Get into a new VW

As a returning Volkswagen Credit customer, if you decide to turn in your current vehicle and lease a new one, the disposition fee on your current vehicle will be waived. We may also waive the security deposit on your new vehicle.

Option 2: Purchase

If you reach the end of your lease and want to purchase, there’s no inspection required. Just call your dealership or Volkswagen Credit Lease-End Services to ask about the payoff process

Option 3: Say goodbye

Want to turn it in and walk away? That’s ok, but we’ll be sad to see you go. Schedule an appointment to return your vehicle. Contact your dealership or give Volkswagen Credit Lease-End Services a call at +1 800 428 4034

5. The invoice

Once your turn-in is complete, you’ll receive your final invoice in the mail in about four to six weeks. If you didn’t lease a new vehicle, this will include a required disposition fee, which goes toward cleaning and reconditioning the vehicle for its next owner. Keep in mind: If you continue to be a customer with us, this disposition fee is waived.

Still not sure which option is best for you? No problem. Check out the FAQ page or log in to My Account to send us a secure message.
